Mixing colors and prints

I've always wanted to mix different colors/prints in my outfits, but something about it has always scared me a little, but enough so that I never do it, I guess it's the fear of it not working out as I thought, so I went on  a hunt for styling tips on how to mix different prints and colors when creating a look, and post some inspirational looks for the rest of us almost daring fashionistas.

1. Stripes: Stripes are a perfect match for florals, polka dots and graphic prints, even better if you can pair the stripe tone to match a tone in the floral or polka dot pattern.

2. Florals: Try the same print in different tones,  also different scales work great together, for instance , you can pair up a  small more subble floral pattern with a floral pattern of larger scale as long as you have one main color on both pieces

3. Leopards can be mixed with florals or polka dots, but keep one of the prints, preferably the leopard to a minimum or in a smaller scale, this Dolce and Gabanna look above is a perfect example.

4. When mixing patterns, it's nice to go neutral, different neutrals go great together and pulls a more sophisticated look.

5. Mix tough and soft looks,  a military jacket with a floral dress is a perfect contradicting look, and mixing lace, tulle, and soft beige skirts with leather/tough jackets & tops create a perfect mix between hard and soft.

Some color schemes that work great together: Browns with mint, turquoise and/or reds
                                                                      Pastel greens with pastel pinks
                                                                      Citrus colors like lemon green and yellows with beiges
                                                                      Grey goes perfect with most colors but even better with pinks
                                                                      Maroon and navy blues
                                                                      Yellows go well with greens and blues


Eu sempre quis misturar  cores/estampas diferentes nos meus looks, mas sempre tive um pouco de medo de explorar essa idea por medo de não sair bem como queria, então decidir pesquizar algumas dicas sobre como misturar estampas e cores diferentes na criação de um look, e postar algumas inspirações e para nós fashionistas que queremos experimentar o trend.
1. Listras: Listras forma uma combinação perfeita com flores, bolinhas e designs graficos combinando os tons das estampas.

2. Florais: Tente a mesma estampa em tons diferentes, também diferentes escalas fucionam em conjunto, por exemplo, mix uma estampa sutil com uma estampa floral de maior escala, comtanto que tenha uma mesma cor principal em ambas as peças

3. Leopardos podem ser misturados com flores ou bolinhas, mas manter uma das estampas, o leopardo de preferência a um mínimo ou em menor escala, este look da Dolce e Gabanna acima é um exemplo perfeito.

4. Quando misturar estampas, é bom ir neutro, neutros diferentes ficam otimos juntos e faz um look mais sofisticado.

5. Uma jaqueta verde militar com um vestido floral é uma contradição perfeita.
